Holy Spirit Convinces – Feb 14

As the world celebrates love this week — as best it can — let me encourage you to think of the endless love of God; to become convinced that that love is poured out on you in enough abundance for you to share.
While others are giving gifts of flowers and candy, take a minute to remember that when Jesus left this earth, He sent back the best gift: the Helper.
As you walk through this week, listen for the Helper. You’ve heard the truth. But when you are up against uncertainty — in the world, in your circumstances or in your own heart — you need convincing.
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.” John 16:7,8
“Convict” means “convince.”
God doesn’t just want you to consent. He wants you to be convinced. That’s why He sent the Helper.
He wants you to be convinced that your sin has been dealt with once and for all.
Jesus assured the disciples: because I go to my Father, the Holy Spirit will convince you of your righteousness.
You have been made righteous. You are brought, by favor and grace, into harmony with God.
” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.[ a] The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”
2 Cor. 5:17,18
God is calling you to sing in harmony with Him. But you need Holy Spirit to convince you. And He will give you the ministry of reconciliation to bring others into favor and grace and teach them to sing that song.
